Research Officer – Intern (1 post) – Mosquito NET Project, Ifakara

IHI is looking for a Research Officer – Intern who will participate in research with Mosquito NET projects in Ifakara within the Environmental and Ecological Science (EHES) department. The Intern will participate in the publication of manuscript in internationally recognized peer reviewed journals. Assisted by the Research Scientist, the Intern will write research proposals for funding and will prepare project progress reports and cconduct presentations to EHES staff and IHI scientists when needed.

Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor of Science in Mathematics /Statistics or Biotechnology and Laboratory sciences.
• Fresh from university with 3.5 GPA and above.

Research Officer – Intern ( 1 post) – BOHEMIA Project, Rufiji

IHI is looking for a Research Officer – Intern who will participate in research for the Broad One Health Endectocide-Based Malaria Intervention in Africa (Bohemia). The BOHEMIA program is embedded with two department of Environmental Sciences and Health system sciences. The Intern will participate to work the package under Health systems to prepare SOPs for achieve, supervise records management clerks on labeling, scanning, storing and filling program documents prepare reports and do presentation on achieving.

Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor of science Health System Management or System Information.
• Bachelor of records management.
• Fresh from the University.

Fieldworkers (10 posts) – BOHEMIA Project, Rufiji/Kibiti

IHI is looking for experienced Field Workers /Entomology Technicians to work in the Broad One Health Endectocide-based Malaria Interventions in Africa (BOHEMIA) project. Among other duties, the Fieldworkers will be required to conduct mosquito trapping and collections, larval collections from field during evaluation of impact of repeated ivermectin MDA on vector populations and their transmission activities in Rufiji and Kibiti Districts.

Qualification and Experience
• Form IV or Form VI on science subjects preferably Chemistry and Biology; holder of certificates or diploma in related field like medical laboratory, environmental science, vector control, medical entomology will be an added advantage.
• Previous experience of at least 2 years, preferably working with EHES or any other entomology department, on field entomological surveys, mosquito handling and rearing, mosquito taxonomy, mosquito dissection, laboratory, field and semi-field entomological bioassays will be a significant importance.
